Rush Limbaugh

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III began his career in radio as a teenager in 1967 in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri using the name Rusty Sharpe. His early years in broadcasting sent him to Pittsburgh to work for an ABC affiliate, then to Kansas City where he even left radio for a time to work in sales for the Kansas City Royals.

Through The Rush Limbaugh Show, Rush's conservative point of view glares as he discusses politics and current events. His show was first nationally syndicated in August 1988, and as of 2005 its audience was estimated at between 14 and 20 million listeners per week, making it the largest radio talk show audience in the United States.

The Rush Limbaugh Show has been largely credited for the shift in AM broadcasting to a news-talk format after an audience decline in the 1970s.

Rush was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1993, and in 2002, industry publication Talkers magazine ranked him as the greatest radio talk show host of all time. Rush can be heard on The Rush Limbaugh Show weekdays on KWTO-AM 560 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and also on Rush Limbaugh Update weekday mornings at 6:41!
